ALOR STAR: A man's wish to watch the FIFA World Cup match between Brazil and Mexico at home in Jalan Langgar early today turned into a bloody affair when he found his wife naked with a youth in their bedroom.
In a fit of anger, the 28-year-old fried kue teow seller grabbed a parang and attacked his 32-year-old wife and the 19-year-old stall helper in the 2am incident.
It was learnt that the man had literally caught the duo with their pants down when he returned home earlier than usual.
The man had apparently extended his business hours up to 4am since the World Cup tournament started last Friday and he was not expected to return home when the youth sneaked into the house to be with the wife.
A source said the man's wife suffered serious slash wounds on her thigh while the youth almost had his left hand severed.
"Both have been admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital while the suspect had turned himself to the police after the incident."
Kota Star police chief Assistant Commissioner Adzaman Md Jan confirmed the incident and said police had classified the case under Section 326 of Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
Police obtained a week-long remand order against the suspect beginning today.
